Defined Health has a formal Peer Mentoring Program in place. This program engages individuals across all levels of our organization to be both mentors and mentees. While mentorship comes in many different forms and informal mentoring happens daily through our close team engagements and project discussions, we recognize the value in a formal program in which the focus and goals are much more day-to-day and near term – such as focusing on next steps for professional development and progressing toward next review goals.
Our program pairs individuals with a relative peer who understands what the mentee’s near term career objectives are, having recently been through it themselves. This allows mentors to provide practical advice, constructive suggestions, and helpful feedback on all aspects of their role within Defined Health. These biweekly meetings foster strong relationships between employees and provide an opportunity to step away from project work and bond with fellow colleagues.

Defined Health actively supports our communities with volunteer efforts and financial contributions to charities and causes close to our employees hearts. In addition to outings such as volunteering at the Community Food Bank of NJ, Defined Health donates a portion of the company profits at year end to a variety of charities, both local and national. Team Building Events
At Defined Health, we believe in build lasting relationships both inside and outside the office. As such, teambuilding events are scheduled on a quarterly basis to provide our employees with opportunities to socialize and tackle new extracurricular adventures together. Recent events have included participation in escape room challenges, team mural painting, and a competitive mini-golf tournament.
As a small firm, we are a close community of colleagues who work hard but also build in time for fun. We routinely partake in quarter-end celebrations as well as encourage post-project team lunches, informal staff/manager lunch or dinner dates, and happy hours. We also have our annual holiday party which brings together our employees and their loved ones for a formal dinner to celebrate the end of a successful year and the launch of the new year to come.
Defined Health invests a great deal in the professional development its employees in order to position ourselves at the leading edge of such a complex and multidisciplinary industry. Senior and junior staff alike have the opportunity to attend scientific, clinical, and commercial conferences to ensure real-time exposure to relevant content and interactions with clients and individuals working in key areas of interest. Furthermore, our newly-launched Mentor in Residence (MIR) program recruits talented individuals with orthogonal skillsets (e.g. reimbursement, regulatory, etc.) into the office for Lunch & Learn symposia or to set up longer-term residencies among our staff. Such programs, along with continual exposure to our clients that range from large Pharma to start-up Biotech (and everywhere in between), ensure that our employees can continually find themselves on the steepest, and hence most rewarding, parts of the learning curves of our industry throughout their tenure at Defined Health.
